On the 8th of January I always get this sweet spot in my heart remembering the day I was asked to start a future with this amazing man I now call my hubby. It’s crazy to think how much has changed in just 3 years of saying, “yes” ……but I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
To my husband, thank you for vowing to take care of my heart and being mindful of my feelings. At the end of the day, regardless of what our days have challenged us with, I love knowing that I can still count on having you next to me reassuring me that our love will get us through it all. Here’s to 300,000,000 more years together.

**For those that aren’t familiar with how he proposed…. I had mentioned that I wanted to go to St Augustine, Fl since we started dating. On January 7th, 2011 I was halfway in to a month long corporate training for a new position. I would drive 4 hours every weekend to attend the training, stay Monday-Friday in a hotel, then drive back home 4 hours to then drive another 4 hours and return to train on Monday. Well in between it all, he planned to take me on a surprise road trip…. so early that Saturday morning (01/08/11) I got ready and we were off. I realized 45 minutes in where we were going and was pretty excited. He planned a trolley tour, lunch and dinner. It was quite awesome. An hour before sunset he said he wanted to start making our way towards the light house to see the sunset. We get there and they let us know they would be closing when the sun sets, so we make our way through a small museum that is set up in the living quarters, then make our way towards the lighthouse. We climbed what seemed like 20 billion stairs with multiple breaks in between (at my request) Then finally made it up. It was perfect, the sky was bright orange as the sun was setting over the bay. We soak it all in for a moment.  Then he walks me around the side of the lighthouse and asks me, “what is that?” I look at the railing and see nothing… he keeps repeating, “what is that?”….. At this point I’m staring at bird poo on the railing, winded from the climb and look at at him with a crazy look. …he says, “No, look down there…” as I looked down to the distance, I see a tennis court lit up with the words MARRY ME.  He used luminary bags and candles to spell out some of the most important words in a gal’s life…. I was shocked, surprised and emotional. I look back at him and he is on one knee. All I could think was how did I not find out he was sneaking around ha! I hug him as I say yes and I hear people screaming from the tennis courts! Our amazing friends who helped make it all possible. A moment to definitely be remembered.
